BC has nothing on the hills along the highway in Ontario. “Straight up,” Marvin says. They spent at least 15 kms today in their lowest gear virtually pushing the bicycle up 7% grade hills.
More encounters with their brethren coast-to-coasters. They met Coyote Kevin, a man running across Canada hoping to be in St. Johns on New Years Eve. And, they met John Ryan, a paraplegic cycler riding a modified bike featuring 3 wheels and hand pedals. John is raising money for spinal chord research, and is accompanied by Tom and Sam (who cycle) and by his father (in a van).
