They rode to the parliament buildings for an event put on by the Schizophrenia Society. Again they were treated like royalty. I don’t have any details on the event itself, except that our brave couple enjoyed it and felt great. They even made it on TV (CPAC).
More information from Mike and Maureen Cassi, who kindly provided an update in the Guestbook.
Sounds like Ottawa treated them incredibly well. A two day break enjoying their celebrity status proved a great elixir.
Digression begin. As I write the word elixir I wonder what it truly means. Tough to impress people with your command of the English language if you use words incorrectly. But, according to my Funk & Wagnalls Standard Desktop Dictionary (yes, I used a physical medium to look up the word — a book): “1. A sweetened alcoholic medicinal preparation. 2. In ancient philosophy, a substance sought prolonging life.” For me, as long as it’s #1, #2 is just a bonus. Since both apply, my vote is that I used the word metaphorically. Digression end.
